The Chapter of Patras of the Scientific Society of Hellenic Medical Students (S.S.H.M.S.), in cooperation with the working group of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Intensive Care and the Nursing working group in Cardiology of the Hellenic Society of Cardiology (H.S.C.) have the great pleasure and honor to welcome you to participate in the BLS/AED provider course.
The aim of this course is to train medical students and new doctors in Basic Life Support and in the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (BSL/AED provider course), based on the latest guidelines of 2015 in CPR and the principles of learning and adult education.
At the end of the course, the trainees will be able to recognize a cardiac arrest victim, to properly perform specialized care, to provide efficient chest compressions and ventilations, to use with safety the AED and to put an unconscious but breathing victim in resuscitation position.
The training will be performed in small groups (5-6 students) under the guidance of experienced teachers of the European Resuscitation Council. In order to successfully attend the course, all participants will have to study the resuscitation handbook, which will be provided soon.
The duration of the course is approximately 4,5 hours and is certified by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC).
